This Demag crane was a type that was used all over Germany during WW2, but was also in use in countries such as UK, Holland, Belgium, Denmark and France. The crane were used at harbors, construction areas, iron and steel works, weapons production and other industries. Demag (Deutsche Maschinenfabrik) developed and sold cranes from 1872 and forward. Thanks to major orders from abroad, the company held its own better than other manufacturers in the years of the global economic crisis in the 1930s. At times, exports account for more than 80 percent of Demag sales. It was therefore common to see Demag cranes in use, in other European countries during WW2.
